From intern to colleague – we are proud to welcome Husham to the team for real!
When Husham walked through the doors as an intern at Zelly four months ago, he didn’t know it would be the start of a new career. Today, we’re proud to welcome him as an employee – and as a valuable part of our support team.
Husham’s journey started with a vocational training in IT. During a visit to the Microsoft Future Fair, he came into contact with Zelly.
– I got a very warm impression right away. It felt like a safe and welcoming place and I really felt that Zelly could be right for me,” says Husham.
The feeling was reinforced on the first day of the internship
– I remember my first day very clearly. What really stood out was how incredibly welcoming everyone was. Everyone greeted me cheerfully and was very friendly, which made me quickly feel part of the team.
During his internship, Husham has had a very varied role, helping our customers with everything from printers and account management to problems with Office applications.
– Taking my very first call at the support desk was actually more challenging than I thought, even though I am used to talking to people. It was a completely new responsibility, and at the same time very educational. But it was a valuable experience that has made me more flexible and better at prioritizing. I have really developed my ability to stay calm in stressful situations,” he says.
Husham’s commitment and curiosity made a strong impression on the team – not least on our Customer Care Manager, Magnus Persson, who has been responsible for the supervision.
– Mr. Husham has contributed the knowledge he brought with him from his education and he has quickly settled into the work. He has participated in discussions on more complex cases and been a positive force in the service desk. It was a no-brainer to offer him a job after his internship,” says Magnus.
Building the team of the future together
Working with interns is an important part of how Zelly approaches both skills development and recruitment. By welcoming students and new graduates into our business, we get the opportunity to share our knowledge, while bringing in new perspectives, ideas and energy. It’s a long-term way for us to contribute to the development of the industry and to find talent early on that can become part of our team in the long run.
– We strongly believe in giving young talent a chance to grow with us. We are used to bringing in people who may not have previous experience in IT. With the right guidance from colleagues and senior supervisors, we create support technicians who get a strong start in their IT career,” says Magnus.
For Husham, it has been a journey of learning, development and appreciation. From being brand new to the industry to handling customer cases with confidence, he has grown both professionally and personally. The strong support of his colleagues and supervisors has played an important role and knowing that his efforts have made a difference has given him both motivation and pride.
– The team at Zelly is amazing. Everyone is helpful and creates a supportive environment.
I would especially like to thank my colleagues in support, Patrik and Simon. Thank you for your patience, your pedagogy and all the support I have received throughout my journey.
He is now looking forward to continuing his journey, growing in his role and taking on new challenges, creating even more value for both the team and the business.
– If you’re thinking of doing a traineeship in IT – go for it! You’ll learn so much, both professionally and personally. It’s a great way to get your foot in the door.
We are incredibly happy to have Husham with us at Zelly – a warm welcome as a colleague!
