1. Do not click on links from strangers
Phishing is one of the most common cyber attacks because it is so effective. Always check that the source is credible, did the email come from the right email address? Is this website trustworthy? Avoid clicking on links that do not seem credible. Spelling and grammatical errors can often be clear signs of phishing. Feeling unsure? Always ask your IT partner for help.

2. Protect your candy with a strong password
A secure password should be over 8 characters long and you should avoid using things that are easy to guess or look up. Examples of things to avoid are name, year of birth, company name, username, etc. It is also good if the password contains special characters such as !%€.
3. Chase away ghosts hiding in the background
While most monsters and ghosts disappear once Halloween is over, cyber ghosts can infiltrate your computer for months unnoticed. Malware is a file or code (malicious software) that infects. For example, it can be spyware used by hackers and advertisers to obtain information about you and your company that monitors your computer use, harvesting passwords, banking information and emails, for example. If your computer or browser suddenly becomes much slower than usual, it could be a sign that you have been affected by malware. You may also notice that you don’t have much space left on your computer, as malware is taking up space on your computer’s storage without telling you what it is.
