Yesterday, Microsoft announced all the new AI updates that are coming to Copilot next. There were several exciting news with the big news being Copilot Pages, Copilot updates in the Microsoft 365 apps and Copilot agents, which will definitely make our daily work even easier!

Copilot Pages

Copilot Pages is a new dynamic workspace/canvas for real-time AI collaboration, where you and your team can edit, add, and share pages to collaborate effectively. In Copilot Pages, you can see everyone’s work in real-time and send different prompts to Copilot to get even better answers, build visualizations, and add content from your files and data.

Microsoft also unveiled new updates and improvements to Copilot in the various M365 apps.

Copilot updates in Excel
The updates in Excel mean that you can now work with data that is not formatted as a table. Thanks to these features, you can now make full use of Excel.
In addition, Copilot in Excel can now work with text data, in addition to numeric data.
It is also possible to perform data analysis using Python in Copilot (a feature now available in a public preview version). This will enable anyone to work with Copilot to perform advanced analytics such as forecasting, risk analysis, machine learning, and visualization of complex data – all using natural language, without coding. It’s like adding a skilled data analyst to the team

Copilot updates in PowerPoint
It is difficult today to go from an idea to a fully finished presentation with only one prompt. Therefore, there is now a Narrative Builder, where you and Copilot can create and edit the content for a first draft together before creating the presentation.
There will also be a Brand Manager where Copilot can use your company’s brand template, so that your presentations then match the company’s graphic profile and always follow the brand. It will also be possible to download company-approved images from the SharePoint Organization Asset library directly into the PowerPoint application.

Copilot updates in Outlook
New in Outlook is the “Prioritize my inbox” feature, where Copilot helps you analyze your inbox and pick out what it considers to be most interesting to you, you can then easily filter in your inbox what Copilot considers to be most important to you and teach Copilot what it should prioritize e.g. mail from a specific person, a specific topic, etc.
Available at the end of 2024.

Copilot updates in Teams
A new feature coming to Teams Copilot later this month allows Copilot to provide information about meetings based on both video and text calls, so if you miss a meeting, you can always stay up to date on what was said in both the video call and in the chat afterwards.
Available in September 2024.

Copilot updates in Onedrive
With Copilot in Onedrive, it can search through all your files and find the information you need. With the new update in Copilot, you will also be able to ask the AI assistant to compare up to five documents, where it can summarize the documents and tell you the differences between the five documents, without even having to open the documents.
Available end of September 2024.

Copilot updates in Word
Copilot in Word allows you to quickly find information from both web and work data such as Word, PowerPoint, PDFs and documents, but now also from emails and meetings! It will also integrate this information directly into your workflow, so you can quickly get started with a great first draft. Copilot in Word has also become a better writing partner.
Available end of September 2024.

Copilot Agents

Finally, Microsoft has announced the public availability of Copilot Agents, enabling users to customize the tool to automatically execute business processes.
Copilot Agents are intelligent assistants that use AI to automate and execute business processes. With Copilot agents, you can automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, analyze data, generate reports, gain insights, and free up time for more strategic work. Copilot agents work for you in the background, fully managed by Copilot. They also adhere to your organization’s security policies and protect sensitive information.

To make it even easier to create Copilot agents, Microsoft is now launching Agent Builder, where you will be able to create and customize your own Copilot agents directly in SharePoint or BizChat using Copilot Studio.
